PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

On May 5, 1970 the National Guard shot and killed four students at Kent State University. In this class activity, students respond to photographs from the day, read various accounts of the event, and see actual letters written to the school in response to the tragedy. Students are asked to cite sources to support the main question of this lesson: "Why did the National Guard shoot?"
