Keyboarding- Typing Games- Name That Nursery Rhyme! Game
This is a fun activity to do with students in a keyboarding/typing class to help students build their typing speed.
This activity consists of 25 lines from popular nursery rhymes like Mary Had a Little Lamb; Baa, Baa Black Sheep; Jack & Jill, etc. that students have to solve. They need to identify what nursery rhyme the line is from. The directions are as follows: Below are 25 lines from a popular nursery rhyme. It is you job to figure out what rhyme it is from! You will be given a set amount of time to respond to the lines. On a blank Word document, please type your name and then go through each line. Please get rid of the 1.15 line spacing by clicking on the No Spacing button on the Home tab. Please change the font size to 16. Number your answers as you respond either manually or with number bullets. Please do your best to answer as many lines as possible in the allotted time. You many skip around but all answers must be numbered accordingly and in order. If you don’t know the answer to a line you can leave it blank, skip the number, or put by the number “Don’t know”. Please make sure to STOP typing your answers when time is called! The student(s) with the most correct answers will be rewarded. Good luck!
Students should really enjoy this activity. Give them a set amount of time and they must type the answers. Walk around and make sure they are not using the Internet to look up anything. When time is up you can have them print out their answers and trade with a classmate and then you can go over the answers. A detailed answer key is provided.
