Learning the alphabet is one of the most important skills children need to learn in the early grades. Having an alphabet in the class for students to refer to-- complete with pictures they can anchor letters and sounds to-- is essential.
Kid Color-able Alphabet headers are a way to let your students own their alphabet/word wall.
Simply print the alphabet cards and let the students color them. Then hang them on your alphabet/word wall. It is a great beginning of the year activity. The images on the cards correspond to similar images on some famous linking charts--- but the pictures are not the same.
The images come in versions with a single letter sound anchor picture for each letter including vowels, "c", and "g"-- as well as a version where the long/short vowel sounds and hard/soft consonant sounds of "c", and "g" are represented.
The cards also include the finger spelling image of the letter-- to engage the more tactile kinesthetic students.
You could also print an extra set to use as flash cards if you wanted to.
I hope you enjoy these cards as much as my Feisty Ferrets in Kindergarten do.
