After studying Civil Rights and learn how grown-ups make a difference, my students learned about how kids are making a difference in the world, right now!
We went to a website where there were many bios telling what kids are doing to make a difference in their communities and around the world. Each child chose one of these kids to research and we listened to the presentations in class. The posters make wonderful decorations for the hallway or in the classroom for Open House. I take a photo of the kids' faces and print them out on paper. Putting their face in the hole of the poster they make.
I have included the directions, the student note-taking sheet, and the teacher grading rubric. These are truly inspiring and fun projects!
