I created this exercise to remind my students about social interactions, manners, school routines, and being ok with not winning. We used several 45 minute lessons and had discussions on how to treat others and how to be a good person.
I think these are critical skills which are sorely missing in a lot of curriculums.
You can adjust the time frame for this depending on your students' skill levels.
We combined our 1st, 2nd and 3rd-grade classes for this, and gave them each a buddy from a different grade which they had to check in with each day. They spoke briefly about things they had done well so far that day and things they still needed to work on.
This booklet is designed to make the students think both critically and reflectively about how they conduct themselves outside of normal class time.
We seek to foster students who are caring, thoughtful and empathetic.
