Use these simple stories and comprehension questions to help your Kindergarten or 1st Grade students become confident readers. These passages can be use in Kindergarten to help your students become early reader or in 1st Grade to help your struggling readers develop reading comprehension, fluency, and confidence. I have personally found these to be effective in guided reading and with partner reading (High/Middle students pair with Low students). However, they could be use as independent work also.
Included are 15 easy to read stories with "what, who, why, when, where & how" questions.
-Each story starts with an easy passage and comprehension questions, and gets more complex as they progress from one story to another.
-All stories are labeled in sequential numeral order so you don't ever have to worry about which stories to use first.
-Stories include 4-5 fill in the blank questions requiring students to respond in complete sentences.
