This set of lessons can be used with any curriculum or to substitute a curriculum that is lacking in shape lessons. We use it to supplement our Go Math curriculum. This set includes eight PowerPoint lessons that have animation and a place for your students to practice counting and writing numbers. Each lesson introduces a new concept, has a question of the day to review previous concepts and get their brains ready to think about math, six to ten slides of sample problems where students use the strategy being taught and an assessment/exit ticket.
I like to have my students bring their white boards to the carpet to try out each problem as we do it as a class. You can choose to do the assessment (Show What You Know) slide together, on white boards or on the worksheets provided. They have been made to be simple to print and cut to reduce your prep time.
The lessons include:
Identify and Describe Circles
Identify and Describe Squares
Identify and Describe Triangles
Identify and Describe Rectangles
Identify and Describe Hexagons
Compare 2-D Shapes
Composing 2-D Shapes
Identify and Describe Trapezoids and Rhombuses
These PowerPoints are locked so that you are unable to edit them. You will open them in Read Only. You will still be able to see the animation and write on the lessons in PowerPoint. I have included written and video directions.
