**Designed on colorful chevon backgrounds...FUN**
This download includes a journal entry for each letter of the alphabet. This activity can be easily incorporated into your balanced literacy and/or writing instruction especially if your instruction focuses on one letter a week. For each journal page, students are to draw and label three pictures that begin with the target letter. Then pick a picture to write about on the lines provided below. This activity promotes beginning letter sounds, and phonetic spelling (inventive spelling) since students are required to label and write about their pictures. I highly believe it is critical for students to move through phonetic spelling phases to grow as both readers and writers, which makes this writing activity very beneficial to your students’ growth.
