These ten center activities are a practical, hands-on way to practice addition in kindergarten. They include printable manipulatives (dominoes and cards) and can be used in independent or group centers.

The following centers are included:

  • Joining using "and": Students will use dice or picture cards to join two groups together then write the joining sentence "__ and __ is __." (2 activities total)
  • Joining using "+": Students will use dice or picture cards to join two groups together then write the addition sentence "__ + __ = __." This is meant to be an extension of the first center. (2 activities total)
  • Adding dominoes: Students will use dominoes to add the two groups on each side, color, then complete the addition sentence. (2 activities total)
  • "I Spy" addition sentences: Students will use their growing knowledge of basic addition facts within and just beyond 10 to find and solve addition sentences then complete the equations. (4 activities total)

There are 10 activities total in this set. You may use the activities in isolation or as part of an addition rotation that you can differentiate to meet your students' needs.
