Get your literacy centers for the entire month of April! Your students will love using their very own literacy center "menu" to keep track of completed centers. The common core standards are on the student menu. There are four sections, with 16 centers total. The four sections are reading, word work, sentence building, and writing. Here are the centers that are included:
~Rebuild a poem: student sheet, poem, and sentence strips
~Read, Think, Match: 2 versions, each with two "levels"
~Read, Visualize, Draw: 2 choices
~Read and Sequence (two versions)
~Egg-cellent words: match the eggs to make words (2 options for this center- pictures or no pictures)
~Sorting words: Read the carrots and decide which vowel is missing
~Silly Words: read word and decide if it is real or nonsense
~Is it u?: students will look at picture card with vowel missing. Decide if vowel makes the u sound or not.
~Be an author: students make book from illustrations given
~Roll and write: students write sentences or words based on pictures they roll
~Word Race: sight word practice
~Build a Sentence: build a 3 word sentence
~Sentence Scrambler: put sentence in order
~Fill a Sentence: Match a word to a picture to complete the sentence
~Sentence Match: match beginning of sentence (subject) with ending.
