"Compare With Care" is a learning game that involves comparing numbers 1-10. Kids love the competition and want to play over and over! It gives great practice also with writing numbers to 10, left and right, and taking turns.
Common Core Learning Standard: K.CC.7 Compare two numerals between 1 and 10 presented as written numerals.
Number of Players: 2
Preparation: Students work in pairs. Each pair needs a copy of the game sheet and a set of number cards, cut and placed inside a paper lunch bag. The students will need something to write with and perhaps a number line for reference.
How to Play: Partners share a set of number cards that have been cut apart and placed in a lunch bag. Players sit side by side and determine who is on the left and who is on the right. Each player chooses a card from the bag. The player on the left writes his number on the left side of a heart and the player on the right writes his number on the right side of the heart. Players then decide who wrote the greater number and that player circles his number. Play continues until all hearts are filled.
The player who circled the most numbers wins!
