This is a game I made for students to review working with CVC word families. The 22 families used in this game are:
-at, -et, -it, -og, -ox, -ix, -ip, -ig, -an, -ar, -ut, -ug, -um, -un, -en, -ed, -op, -ot, -am, -ag, -in, -ub
There are several ways this game can be played.
Students can play alone and see how many words they can make.
Students can play with a partner and take turns making words.
The entire class could play.
I have included each word family on a task card.
I have included each letter of the alphabet which could be placed in front of the word family to make a new word. (I included the vowels in case you wanted to do something else with this set of letters.)
I have included 4 common blends that could also be used in front of some of the word families.
I have included 42 pictures of common words that could be made with these word families. Obviously, not every possible word has a picture that goes with it. The pictures are included to give students ideas of words that could be made if they need them.
