Here is what you need to start teaching the new Common Core Standards in Mathematics, Geometry (Shapes). For each of the six standards there is a reproducible student-friendly mini-poster,a delightful worksheet and a certificate to reward student achievement. Most of the standards also include a fun, easy-to-make flip booklet! Each page is available as a black and white student reproducible as well as a full color teacher sample.
Standards covered include: K.G-1 Describe objects in the environment using names of shapes and describe relative positions of these objects; K.G-2 Name shapes regardless of orientation or size; K.G-3 Identify shapes as flat or solids; K.G-4 Compare shapes to describe their similarities and differences; K.G-5 Model shapes by building or drawing them; K.G-6 Compose simple shapes to form larger shapes.
Shapes covered include: square, rectangle, circle, triangle, hexagon, cube, cone, cylinder, sphere.
These materials can be used to supplement any existing mathematics program or as a stand-alone math program.
