Within this product, you will find a Count The Room Set that I created for my Kindergarten Colleague. I color-coded each card set so that the cards can be left up all year long. You can move students through the different colors and whatever pace is appropriate for each individual mathematician. I’ve included a data collection form to help you track which students have mastered which set. I’ve also included posters (4 versions to choose from) to help students know which set you’d like them to do that day/week. To use these posters, simply put student names on small post its and move them around, or laminate and write their name with dry erase marker. I love using posters like these because it helps students be super self- sufficient in doing the ‘Just Right’ task that I have chosen for them. There is also an answer key in case you want to occasionally collect and review student work to see who is ready for a new task. The answer key is on one page so you can easily notice if a student might have mistakenly read the wrong colored card (i.e. they wrote the answer for the dark yellow rather than the light yellow); this will also help you quickly decipher which version of the color [light or dark] the student was reading from (since their coloring at the top of the page likely won’t indicate this). I’m so excited about it that I plan to use it in my first grade classroom to start out the year! I may even create a full first grade set soon! Follow the Ridiculum Curriculum Store for news about that!
