Here are some of the activities we set out around Easter time in our Kindergarten classroom. I hope your students enjoy them too!
p. 2-5: Decorate & Describe:
I use page 3 with an egg decorating kit I got from Dollarama. I also included an editable file so you can add your own words and use with any type of egg decorating kit! Or you can use pages 4-5 and have the students decorate the egg directly on the paper.
*If you would like the font to be the same as the original in the editable file, please download and install the font KG Primary Penmanship
p. 6-8: Crack & Solve CVC Words:
Cut and laminate the pieces on page 6. I put each set in a matching egg (e.g. c, a, t and the picture for the cat in a pink egg) and then put them in an Easter basket with some Easter grass. Then I invite the students to open the egg, find the picture and unscramble the letters to spell the word. Then the students record the letters on the "CVC Easter Eggs" recording sheet.
p. 9-13: Easter Writing Papers with Mini Word Banks
• If you were the Easter Bunny, where would you hide your Easter eggs?
• How was your Easter long weekend?
p.14-15: My Easter Egg Patterning Book:
I set out some felt Easter eggs as a manipulative but you could set them out with any Easter egg manipulative or the booklet on it's own. Students make a colour pattern and record the name on each page. I make 3 copies of page 14 to make it a 4 page booklet.
p. 16-18: Magic Easter Eggs:
Prep the worksheets by writing the numbers in the Easter eggs with a white crayon or oil pastel. Then set them out with watercolour paint. When students paint over the eggs they will uncover the hidden numbers! After the student paints all the eggs, they will count and record how many of each number they uncovered at the bottom of the page.
Please let me know if you have any questions prior to purchasing!
