This is it!!! Your entire Kindergarten year of science. By teaching these 4 units, 2 informational reading activities, and 2 Engineering Design Challenges, you will be covering all of the kindergarten content standards of the Next Generation Science Standards, as well as the engineering standards for grades k-2. Each unit is packed full of inquiry based activities, integrated language arts, word wall cards, games, task cards, projects, and assessments. Here's a brief description of each unit. You can also click on the individual products on this page to see each of the included products in more detail.

Activity 4: Fast and Slow Cars: Students push cars with different strengths of forces and makes observations.

Activity 5: Crash Bang: Students experiment with marbles and ramps to see which objects will cause the marble to change direction or stop.

Activity 6: Design Challenge: Students are challenged to build a tool to move an object from the floor to their desks using a variety of materials.

Activity 7: Word Wall Cards and Games: Word wall cards for the unit with suggested activities are included. Two versions of the word wall cards are included.

Post Test: A post test is included.

Activity 2: The Sun’s Energy Students compare sunny and shady areas using a thermometer and other observations.

Activity 3: My Plate is Hotter Than Yours! This activity compares the temperature of soil, gravel and sand when each are in the sun.

Activity 4: Help! My Chocolate is Melting! For this design challenge student construct a shelter to keep their chocolate from melting.

Activity 5: What’s the Weather Today?: Students track the weather each day in a weather log and look for patterns.

Activity 6: What Do You See? Students make observations of clouds and use their imagination to create “pictures” using cotton balls.

Activity 7: How Does Knowing the Weather Help Us? Students work in groups and then as a whole class to come up with ideas about how knowing the weather helps us. They then write about it.

Activity 8: What Should I Wear Today? Students think about how the weather impacts their clothing choices. They record their ideas on an activity sheet.
