PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The activities presented in this pack are simple and easy to use and require NO PREP - just print, photocopy and go! The activity pages are all in black and white and use fun Valentine's themed clip art. These activities are engaging and fun for all students to complete. You may choose to use these activities for morning work or for early finishers. These activity sheets are designed to allow students to complete with ease independently. These sheets have students practice basic skills such as recognizing word families or working with numbers to 10 (or 20 for those who need an extra challenge). This packet can also be used with students in Grade 1 who require reinforcement of basic skills.

The activities in this packet are:
*February Let’s Make 10 (I): Draw the number of hearts needed to make 10 on each tens frame.
*February Let’s Make 10 (II): Draw the number of hearts needed to make 10 on each tens frame.
*Ten Frames: Count the number on each ten frame set. Cut and paste the matching number next to the ten frame.
*Comparing Hearts (I): Count and write the number of hearts in each box [numbers 1 – 20].
*Comparing Hearts (II): Count and write the number of hearts in each box [numbers 10 – 20].
*Spin a Number Word (II): Use a pencil and paperclip to spin a number word. Color a matching heart with the number on it. Play until all hearts have been colored [numbers 1 - 9].
*Spin a Number Word (II): Use a pencil and paperclip to spin a number word. Color a matching heart with the number on it. Play until all hearts have been colored [numbers 11 – 19].
*Heart Patterns: Make patterns on hearts given pattern rules.
*Valentine Number Bonds: Complete each number bond.
*Tally Up Your Hot Chocolate: Count the tally marks. Cut and paste the correct hot chocolate cup next to the correct number of tally marks.
*Valentine Skip Counting by 10’s: Skip count by 10’s. Fill in the missing numbers on the hearts below.
*Valentine Skip Counting by 5’s: Skip count by 5’s. Fill in the missing numbers.
*Skip Counting by 1’s: Skip count by 1’s. Cut and paste the missing heart numbers in the correct order.
*Addition Hearts (I): Solve the addition problem on each heart. Color the hearts according to the key.
*Addition Hearts (II): Solve the addition problem on each heart. Color the hearts according to the key.
*Addition Problems: Solve the addition problems below. Cut out the manipulatives at the bottom of the page to help solve the problems.
*Subtraction Problems: Solve the subtraction problems below. Cut out the manipulatives at the bottom of the page to help solve the problems.
*Comparing Hearts: Look at each pair of hearts below. Color the heart that has the greater number written on it.
*Base Ten Blocks: Count the base ten rods and blocks. Cut and paste the correct number heart bucket next to each set.
*Ordering Hearts: Fill in the missing number for each group of hearts.
*Color by Ten Frames (I): Count the tens frames on each heart. Use the color code to color each heart [numbers 5 – 12]
*Color by Ten Frames (II): Count the tens frames on each heart. Use the color code to color each heart [numbers 13 – 20].
*Count and Graph: Count and color the hearts that are the same. Graph each heart.
*Roll and Color: Roll a die. Find and color the number rolled.
*Tracing Letters of the Alphabet: Trace the letters of the alphabet in the hearts.
*The Missing Letters of the Alphabet: Print the missing letters of the alphabet in each heart.
*Word Families Sort (I ~ -an, -in): Cut and paste the word family words to match the word family in each row.
*Word Families Sort (II ~ -ug, -at): Cut and paste the word family words to match the word family in each row.
*Word Families Sort (III ~ -ad, -en): Cut and paste the word family words to match the word family in each row.
*Word Families Sort (IV ~ -ap, -et): Cut and paste the word family words to match the word family in each row.
*Search and Find the Word Family Words (I ~ -at, -et, -it): Look at the box. Find, circle and write the word family words in the correct word family columns.
*Search and Find the Word Family Words (II ~ -ad, -ag, -id): Look at the box. Find, circle and write the word family words in the correct word family columns.
*Color by Word Family: Look at the words written on the hearts. Use the color key to color in the word hearts by word family (-am, -ap, -ig, -ug).
*February CVC Words (Short A): Cut and paste the correct CVC word onto the correct box. Color the pictures.
*February CVC Words (Short E): Cut and paste the correct CVC word onto the correct box. Color the pictures.
*February CVC Words (Short I): Cut and paste the correct CVC word onto the correct box. Color the pictures.
*February CVC Words (Short O): Cut and paste the correct CVC word onto the correct box. Color the pictures.
