This is a pack of 24 file folder games that cover a variety of literacy skills! Each file folder game includes labels, game mats, and game pieces.

These file folder activities are designed to provide skill practice and reinforcement in a variety of settings. The activities are motivating and are each directed at a particular skill, allowing the teacher to use a specific file folder activity for a targeted skill on which a student needs practice.

Some suggested classroom uses for these activities are:

* Individual learning centers

* Small group guided practice

* Special education skill targeting or remedial practice in tiered groups

* Morning activities for students upon arrival

* Early finisher activities

The skills targeted in this resource align with the Kindergarten Common Core standards designated above.

Read common high-frequency words by sight (e.g., the, of, to, you, she, my, is, are, do, does).
Associate the long and short sounds with common spellings (graphemes) for the five major vowels.
Demonstrate basic knowledge of one-to-one letter-sound correspondences by producing the primary sound or many of the most frequent sounds for each consonant.
Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words.
Isolate and pronounce the initial, medial vowel, and final sounds (phonemes) in three-phoneme (consonant-vowel-consonant, or CVC) words. (This does not include CVCs ending with /l/, /r/, or /x/.)
