Alphabet OH NO
Number Recognition OH NO
CVC Word OH NO.
OH NO is a very easy game to play and very easy to adapt to multiple learning levels! Very little preparation is required: print the cards, laminate (if desired), cut apart!
Once students know how to play the game I put it into literacy/math centers for students to play on their own.
The cards can be used in multiple ways in addition to the OH NO game: Play memory with the upper and lowercase Alphabet cards, use the number cards to sequence numbers by 1's 5' 10's, use the CVC word cards to sort words by word families, etc.
Alphabet OH NO teaches kids the letters and sounds.
Number Recognition teaches kids numbers to 100
CVC word cards (181 CVC words) work on decoding skills, rhyming, vowel sounds.
Directions include ideas for enriching the concept for students who have already grasped the basic skill. (ie "tell me something that starts with that sound, can you think of a word that ends with that sound? Tell me 10 more (10 less) than the number.
These are games I have used consistently for 14 years in teaching Kindergarten and ELL (ESOL) Kindergarten students. They love the games are learning at the same time!
I often copy these for parents so students can play at home. It gives parents a chance to help their child learn while having fun. I have included instruction sheets for parents.
