What educators are saying

This resource was awesome for working on developing my students' fluency. They found the passages engaging and enjoyed practicing reading. Great resource!
These are a great extension activity after we have done a lesson on a specific phonics skills. We get to practice fluency while reinforcing the phonics skill.

Description

This fluency pack is lexiled and leveled. There are seven different passages for short vowel sounds: a, e, i, o, u. The sight words I've used in conjunction with the passages are for beginning kinders. The passages become more rigorous the higher the lexile score. I've used it in my first grade classroom for remedial firsties as an independent reading assessment and once a week fluency timing. They can be used as weekly comprehension or fluency for kinders as well.

If you are a fan of my differentiated fluency for firsties, this would be a great support for your students that need specific skill work with CVC words and kinder sight words.
