A Colored Emergent Reader and a Black Line Master – Fill in the blank with the correct positional word. The positional word is located on each page to copy in the blank. The students then draw the animal on the page that the positional word describes. Example: The page will say, I am behind the snake. The students draw the snake in front of the Gingerbread Man. The Gingerbread Man is already placed in the position on each page. The students have to draw the animal on each page.
Pocket Chart Cards
-There is a colored copy of each positional word with the picture on each card of the Gingerbread Man placed by the positional word.
-There are several writing/ reading pages.
1. If you were lost in the zoo, where would you hide?
2. The Gingerbread Man is lost at the zoo. Which animal would do the best job to find him?
3. Write the color word of each animal and then read the sentence.
-Search for the animals at the zoo.
