Get your literacy centers for the entire month of May! Your students will love using their very own literacy center "menu" to keep track of completed centers. The common core standards are on the student menu. There are four sections, with 16 centers total. The four sections are reading, word work, sentence building, and writing. Here are the centers that are included:
~Rebuild a poem: student sheet, poem, and sentence strips
~Read, Think, Match: 2 versions, each with two "levels"
~Read, Visualize, Draw
~Read and Sequence (two versions)
~Sunshine words: matching beginning and ending of words
~Real or Not: read word and decide if it is real or nonsense
~Is it e?: students will look at picture card with vowel missing. Decide if vowel makes 3 sound or not.
~Be an author: students make book from illustrations given
~Spin and write: students write sentences or words based on pictures they spin
~Word Race: sight word practice
~Build a Sentence: build a 3 word sentence
~Sentence Scrambler: put sentence in order
~Flip a sentence: building a small sentence using a flip book
~Sentence Match: match beginning of sentence (subject) with ending.
