Product Description
I LOVE math center/intervention time! I do math centers the last 15-20 minutes of my math time. During this time my students work completely independently while I do interventions one on one or with small groups. It is so nice to be able to give my struggling students help without constant interruptions.

I get a lot of questions about how I run math centers/intervention time in my classroom. Unfortunately most of the things in my math centers are things that I have purchased myself. And it has taken a LONG time and a LOT of money to collect all the necessary components to make it run smoothly. Most people don't have the resources to run math centers they way I do. So I decided to help out other teachers looking for an easy way to incorporate math centers into their day.

I run 4 stations during math center time. The first math station is always Number Sense. Our kids can't get enough practice with numbers. The second station focuses on Geometry, Measurement and Data. The third station is called Practice. It is focused on practicing current concepts. The fourth station is computers.

Each station contains 1 worksheet per week and 2 early finisher activities per month. September contains more because some schools start in August.

The goal for math center is independence. Easy worksheets and activities that require minimum instruction mean more time learning and more time for you to work on intervention.

September Shapes station is the second station in my math centers. September Shapes includes six simple worksheets and four hands on activities to set up your first station. It also includes details on how I run math centers as well as my center rotation. I also included ideas to make the activities fun for your students.

This unit focuses on circle, square, rectangle, hexagon, triangle, and one review worksheet. It includes tracing shapes, identifying shapes in things we see every day, counting sides and vertices. Activities include making shapes with popsicle sticks, sorting, patterns, and making pictures with pattern blocks.
