Product Description
This cute and engaging board game was designed by me, to help students recognize 2D and 3D shapes in the world around them. It is perfect for math centers or small group play, for 3 – 6 players. Digger the dog is lost and needs help finding his way home. Students name the shapes of the things Digger sees on his journey... But watch out for the dog catcher! The illustrations on the game cards all include shapes that one might see in the environment, so it reinforces their ability to identify both 2D and 3D shapes within everyday objects. The set consists of:

~45 Game Cards
~A Game Board
~12 Doggie Game Pieces
~An Optional Spinner

Best for Kindergarten, early 1st Grade, and homeschoolers.

This game aligns with the following Common Core Standards for Kindergarten Geometry:

K.G.A.1 Describe objects in the environment using names of shapes, and describe the relative positions of these objects using terms such as above, below, beside, in front of, behind, and next to.

K.G.A.2 Correctly name shapes regardless of their orientations or overall size.

K.G.A.3 Identify shapes as two-dimensional (lying in a plane, “flat”) or three-dimensional (“solid”).

Note: There are two versions of this game. One version includes the “dog catcher” and “going to the pound”. The other version leaves these two challenges out of the game, as some small children become very emotional over undesirable aspects of games. I do not wish to induce any temper tantrums into your classroom, so if you feel your students are unable to deal with these undesirable aspects of the game, there is a second game board (that has no references to the dog pound or dog catcher) Just use that board and remove the dog catcher cards from the playing cards and play! The versions are the same, otherwise.
