Problem-solving is an engaging, rigorous and student-centered way to teach math. Not only will your students learn core math skills, they will learn how to think critically, choose their own problem-solving strategies and communicate mathematical ideas in a meaningful way.
There are 45 problems included in this packet, all aligned to the Common Core. Domains covered include:
* Operations and Algebraic Thinking (addition and subtraction; composing and decomposing numbers)
*Number and Operations in Base 10 (Teen numbers as “10 and some more”)
I've included notes to the teacher for each week as well as questioning prompts to deepen students' mathematical understandings during share time.
Each problem has a cut and paste prompt. I have also included a separate Microsoft Word file with editable 1 x 2.63” labels.
