Grab the clipboards and get ready for some math review fun! This collection of “Find a Friend” activities for kindergarten math will have your students up and moving as they review 27 different math skills, including topics in Operations, Numbers in Base 10, Geometry, and Measurement.
These activities are also perfect for some quick informal assessment and "catch up" at back to school time in first grade!
Model the completion of one box, having each of your students mark the answer and write his or her own initials in the box. Armed with clipboards and pencils, give your students a few minutes to move around your classroom to find a friend who will complete any other box, and then continue to other “math friends” until each box has been completed by a different student.
There’s an answer key provided for each of the “Find a Friend” activities, so you can easily extend the learning by displaying the key on your document camera and discussing a few of the items afterwards.
These pages also work perfectly as Read the Room for Math activities for your math centers. Just print the page, cut the boxes apart and display them around your classroom. Students can record their answers on the included page.
Here are some of the skills included in this set:
Order of numbers through 100 (before, next, between)
Time to the hour and half hour
Using visual support through tools like dice, dominoes, and ten frames on these pages, your students will "show what they know" ... and have a great time doing it!
