How are the Units Covered?

Each unit will offer two components to help make the math units

meaningful and engaging for whole group, small group or individual lessons. The Kindergarten Math Units can be a supplemental resource for current math curriculum, or it can be used as a whole math curriculum. The curriculum is designed to give the teacher flexibility and freedom to rearrange the units to fit the needs of his/her students. Since there are so many practice pages and centers in each unit, the teacher can use many of the pages as a spiral review as the year progresses.

*Center Number 3: Spin the Giraffe spinner. Record the number on the recording sheet and count on.

*Center Number 4: Write the 3 mystery numbers on the recording sheet.

*Center Number 11: Feed the Cow Feed the cow each number in order from 41-60. Then, record the numbers in order from 41-60 on the recording sheet.

*Center Number 12: Feed the Cat Feed the cat each number in order from 61-80. Then, record the numbers in order from 61-80 on the recording sheet.

*Center Number 13: Feed the Pig Feed the pig each number in order from 81-100. Then, record the numbers in order from 81-100 on the recording sheet.

*Center Number 14: Let's Bowl Put the bowling pins in order from 1-25.

Write the numbers in order on your recording sheet.

*Center Number 15: Clothes Line Clip the clothes in order from 26-50.

Write the numbers in order on your recording sheet.

*Center Number 16: All Aboard the Train Put the train in order from 51-75.

Write the numbers in order on your recording sheet.

*Center Number 17: Grow a Caterpillar Put the caterpillar pieces in order from 76-100.

Write the numbers in order on your recording sheet.

*Center Number 18: Race Car Drive Put the race cars in order by 10’s from 10-100.

Write the numbers in order on your recording sheet.

*Center Number 19: Treasure Chest Order the treasure chests from 10-100.

Place the coins in order above each chest.

Record your answers on your recording sheet.

How to Teach the Units

The grade level standards for each practice page and center are clearly indicated on the Kindergarten Math Standard Sheet. There is no guessing as to what standard is being covered.
