How are the Units Covered?
Each unit will offer two components to help make the math units
meaningful and engaging for whole group, small group or individual lessons. The Kindergarten Math Units can be a supplemental resource for current math curriculum, or it can be used as a whole math curriculum. The curriculum is designed to give the teacher flexibility and freedom to rearrange the units to fit the needs of his/her students. Since there are so many practice pages and centers in each unit, the teacher can use many of the pages as a spiral review as the year progresses.

*Center Number 1: Number Dots: Flip over 2 cards. Count the dots and write an addition sentence.
*Center Number 2: Addition up to 10: TFlip a card. Use the given materials to solve the addition problem.
*Center Number 3: Make Ten With...: TCount the dots on the ten frame. Count how many more dots are needed to get to 10.
*Center Number 4: Spin, Add and Cover: Spin both spinners. Add the numbers and cover a matching number on the board.
*Center Number 5: Count and Add: Use the given materials to count out the numbers. Add them together and finish the addition sentence.
*Center Number 6: Roll, Add and Cover (2 gameboards) Roll a die. Solve an addition problem in the row of the number you rolled. Record the answer on the recording sheet.
Center Number 7:Flip and Cover: Two players take turns flipping an addition card, adding the numbers and covering the answer on the game board. The first person to have 4 in a row wins!
*Center Number 8: Fill Your Board: Players take turns flipping an addition card, adding the numbers and covering the answer on their game board. The first person to cover all their numbers wins!
*Center Number 9: Circle the Sums: Circle the numbers that add up to the given sum. Color a star for each set you find. Write the number sentence.
*Center Number 10: Bubble Gum Sums: Add the numbers on the gum balls and sort to the gum ball machine with the correct sum.
*Center Number 11:Let's Make Ten: Count the dots on the ten frame. Count how many more dots are needed to get to 10. Write an addition sentence.
*Center Number 12: Count and Clip to 10: Count the dots on the ten frame. Count how many more dots are needed to get to 10. Write an addition sentence.
*Center Number 13: Addition Number Bonds: Look at the numbers on the number bonds. Fill in the missing addend.
*Center Number 14: Addition Puzzles: Count the items on the puzzle pieces and find the matching numbers.
*Center Number 15: Fill it, Spill it, Add it: Place 5 or 10 two-sided counters in a cup.
Pour the counters out and show the values in the five or ten frame. Write an equation to match.
*Center Number 16: Feed Me: True or False? Flip a card. Decide if the equation is true or false and feed the correct trash can.
*Center Number 17: I Spy Addition Facts: Using a magnifying glass, find the addition facts in the picture. Solve the problems and record.
*Center Number 18: Addition Popsicles: Match up the addition problems with the correct answer. Record your answers.
*Center 19: 20 Story Problems: Read the story. Draw it in the box, show the amounts in the ten frame, write the equation, and show your work on the number line.
