How are the Units Covered?
Each unit will offer two components to help make the math units
meaningful and engaging for whole group, small group or individual lessons. The Kindergarten Math Units can be a supplemental resource for current math curriculum, or it can be used as a whole math curriculum. The curriculum is designed to give the teacher flexibility and freedom to rearrange the units to fit the needs of his/her students. Since there are so many practice pages and centers in each unit, the teacher can use many of the pages as a spiral review as the year progresses.

*Center Number 18: Compare Heights: Compare the heights of the two caterpillars. Complete the sentence on the recording sheet.
*Center 19:Sort and Classify Seasons: Flip a card. Look at the picture and decide if it is a summer item or a winter item.
*Center 20: Sort and Classify Animals: Flip a card. Look at the animal and decide if it has two legs or four legs. Write how many animals are in each category in the boxes.
*Center 21: Venn Diagram: Sort and Classify: Flip a card. Look at the picture and decide if it is a circle, the color blue, or both. Record how many of each type in the boxes.
*Center 22: Sort and Classify Transportation: Count the vehicles. Then color the correct number of boxes to show the number of vehicles. Write the number for each and answer the questions.
*Center 23: Sort and Classify Sweet Treats: Count the treats. Then color the correct number of boxes to show the number of treats. Write the number for each and answer the questions.
*Center 24: Sort and Classify Dinosaurs: Count the dinosaurs. Then color the correct number of boxes to show the number of dinosaurs. Write the number for each and answer the questions.
