I use Kindergarten Morning Word Work as my bell work every morning and it is aligned with Reading Street sight words, letter of the week, and grammar skill. As soon as my students are unpacked they have this waiting for them on their desk. I designed it to introduce new skills on Monday and then students can complete it each day independently.
Morning word work combines letter recognition, letter sounds, sight words, and sentence writing to practice essential skills. Week 5 and 6 begin working on identifying nouns.
Some of the skills covered in this unit include:
Letter Recognition and Handwriting (A-Z)
First Sound Recognition
Writing sentences. (trace and write)
Each week includes 5 days of word work.
I have 6 units available to cover the whole year!
