Lesson Plan (Kindergarten Music Day 21): This file is an individual lesson from my Kindergarten Music Lesson Plans {Semester 1/ 36 Lessons} in case you want just want to purchase individual lessons instead of the whole semester.

This lesson is aligned with the new Core Arts Standards and includes a scripted lesson plan full of ideas for kindergarten music class.

It includes opportunities for incorporating movement, folk songs and chants, nursery rhymes, vocal exploration, as well as children's literature.

Concepts this lesson works on:
- Prepare steady beat, pitch matching
- Practice loud/soft, fast/slow, four voices
- Combinations of loud/soft and fast/slow

It is NOT intended to be a "print and teach" lesson plan. Every classroom and music teacher is different. We each have our own students, schedules, time restraints, resources, and experiences that make our music program what it is.

This is intended to be a peek into exactly what I am doing with my kindergarten students to give you some new ideas about lesson planning, transitions, classroom management, song materials, and just how I weave my lesson together. It is a model for you as you are planning.

Songs in this lesson that are in the public domain are included in this set. When outside resources have been used, I will provide a link to where you can find it if it is something you wish to incorporate in your lesson.

Many of these ideas could also be utilized in schools that see pre-k or in schools who do not see students until first grade.

Please note: My kindergarten lessons are designed sequentially and each lesson is meant to build upon prior lessons. It is recommended that you purchase the lessons in order so that you can see the full picture. When you purchase a single lesson, you may not understand which songs would be repeats (practice) for the students and which would be brand new. Each lesson has a mix of new material and song material repeated from previous lessons to build a repertoire of folk songs and chants.
