Kindergarten Rhymes - Set 2 contains ten of the most well-known American versions and loved portions of the following nursery rhymes:
“Diddle, Diddle, Dumpling”
“Early to Bed”
“Hey, Diddle, Diddle”
“Jack and Jill”
“Jack Be Nimble”
“Little Bo Peep”
“Little Boy Blue”
“Little Jack Horner”
Each page is used as a follow-up activity …
As the teacher reads the rhyme again, the child is to follow along. Using the cloze procedure, the child will select the correct missing word - from the words found at the bottom of each page - and write it in the given blank.
Next, the child will create an illustration that relates – in some way - to his understanding of the rhyme. Then, he will name his illustration, and/or state an opinion about it.
(A place is provided for this.) Discussions are to follow.
