Description

Kindergarten Phonics Curriculum for the Year // The Empowering Little Readers Kindergarten Phonics curriculum is designed to give students a strong foundation in phonics and decoding so that they can understand the structure of words in both reading and writing. It was created by a teacher and it keeps in mind where students are developmentally. It is the perfect companion to my Empowering Little Readers Kindergarten reading curriculum.

Unit 1: Introducing Letters - Students will be introduced to a letter a day.

Unit 2: Alphabet Review - Students will review each letter with a focus on beginning sounds.

Unit 3: Making CVC Words - Students will learn about beginning and ending sounds and each short vowel. They will learn to segment and blend cvc words.

Unit 4: Advanced Sounds - Students will learn digraphs, blends, long vowels, and r-controlled vowels.

These lessons are scripted to give you less to worry about, but you can use as much or as little as you need. This curriculum can be used as a support to your current program or on its own. 180 days of instruction are included.
