Roll and Climb is aligned with the Kindergarten National Geographic Reach for Reading curriculum. This product includes eight game boards; one for each unit (units 1 & 2 are combined). This game is a twist on the Great Word Race. It is great for pair play, independent practice, early finishers, and literacy centers.
For pair play, two game boards and one six-sided die are needed. Students take turns rolling the die and reads the high frequency word that matches the die at the bottom of one of the ladders. If the student correctly reads the high frequency word he colors a the first uncolored star immediately above the word. Play continues until one (or more) of the words reaches the top of its ladder (or until all the words have reached the top).
