Assess both writing and comprehension of the week's concepts with this response writing pack! This includes a cover page stating each question of the week for all six units, four blank writing pages with varying number of lines, a writing page for each week with the question of the week listed at the top, and strips you can cut up with each question on them to glue into a journal. There are three ways to use this pack:
1. At the end of each week after we have discussed the “Question of the Week” at length, give each student one of the blank writing papers. The students will then write to answer the question and illustrate their answer as well. Then bind them together with the question page as the cover and put them in the classroom library.
2. Use the papers with the questions at the top of the page. Keep them throughout the year and at the end of the year, bind each child’s papers together and send them home so they can see how much their writing has grown over their Kindergarten year. Unit 1 pages have no lines, then the later unit pages slowly gain more lines for more developed writing.
3) The last few pages are for teachers who maybe have specific writing paper they either choose to use or are required to use. Give each child a strip with the question to glue at the top of their writing paper.
