This resource was designed for helping kindergarten students learn the types of information to include in a recount and how to structure a recount. When students have thought about their recount they use the Recount Writing Strip to do a Think, Pair Share with their partner. Place a peg on the first box of each strip. As the student says each part of their recount they move the peg along to the next box. This task helps students orally practice what they are going to write before they go to their desks. It also reinforces the important information needed in a recount.
