Foss Science Paper Unit- Make a poster of different kinds of paper!
This is to be used with the FOSS science kit for the paper unit. We use it in kindergarten.
Part of the unit is that each student gets a small sample of different kinds of paper! To make it a little more visual than just putting the samples in a ziplock baggie, we make a poster with the pieces!
-Download and print this two-page printable for each student. I have made it an editable word document so that you can change the types of paper if you have more/less than I did. Currently, it has a label for cardboard, corrugated paper, kleenex (facial tissue), wax paper, tagboard, newsprint, Kraft paper, construction paper, paper towel, chipboard (10 total)
-Get a large piece of construction paper for each student and gather their paper samples.
-Have students glue their samples in rows on the construction paper.
-Student then cut out the labels on this printable and match them to the type of paper!
-Then students use the easy/difficult labels to label which papers are good/bad for writing, folding, and spills!
This can be stretched out to a 3-4 day project, depending on the time frame!
