Practice Pre-K and Kindergarten sight word recognition during literacy centers with this engaging activity. Students will be entertained as they build sandwiches by reading many common primary sight words.
- 100 sight word sandwich pieces (color coded by suggested age range) with 4-6 words per page
- Teacher & Student Directions and tips for implementation
- Blank sandwich pieces
(Due to varying sight word lists and expectations, you can add any additional words that you need or disregard the color coding system)
- Blackline masters (print onto color paper for an ink saving alternative and add your own words)
This activity is great for small groups, partner work, or as a center activity. For added fun, store the laminated materials in a lunch box and use paper plates during center time.
Please note that this station does take initial time to print, laminate, cut, and sort materials. However, it can be used year round and will quickly become a crowd favorite.
