Unit 6 sight word practice includes six weeks of sight word activities for your kindergarten students. You might also consider using these activities for remediation with your first and second grade students. Compatible with Reading Street 2013.
Weekly activities include:
I Spy Sight Words:
Students search through a table of words and color the targeted sight words with their corresponding colors.
Read it, Write it, Illustrate it, Cut it, Glue it:
Students will read a sentence containing the targeted sight words, write the sentence, illustrate the sentence, and cut out and glue the sentence words in the correct order.
Roll, Read, and Trace:
Students roll a die and read and trace the sight words in the column below the correct die face. Students keep rolling until they have read and traced all the words.
I Can Read:
Students read the targeted sight words, read four sentences containing the targeted sight words, write and illustrate their favorite sentence, and color 3 apples, one for each time they read the sentences.
Sight Word Cards:
These can be cut apart and placed in a center or on rings for individual practice.
Weekly sight words include:
Week 1 : do, here, little, what, with
Week 2 : come, go, is, that, where
Week 3 : from, like, the, to, was
Week 4 : for, my, of, we, yellow
Week 5 : blue, four, have, they, two
Week 6 : look, said, see, three, you
