This is a great game that you can play with your students to review quarter 1 sight words. You can also put this in literacy centers or Word Work center for independent practice!
How To Play:
1. Print and cut out cards.
2. Laminate for durability.
3. Pass out one card to each student. If you have extra cards, give some students two cards.
4. The student who has a star on their card, begins the game. The student will read his/her card. The student who has the match, responds by reading his/her card. The game continues until all the cards have been read.
*When I play this game with my class, I have the students stand up and form a line in front of the room. After we play one round, the students switch cards and we play again! They LOVE this activity and it's a great way to review sight words at the end of the quarter.
*You can also review opposites with this game! Each card has a picture on it. The next card that should be read, has the matching opposite picture! Opposites include: black/white, night/day, cold/hot, happy/sad, hungry/full, small/big, run/walk, and go/stop.
