Looking for a fun way to enhance your subtraction unit in kindergarten? Here's a quick project based on Pete The Cat And His Four Groovy Buttons by Eric Litwin. The children collage Pete and use a recording sheet at the bottom to decide how many buttons to put on his shirt and how many popped off. They write a subtraction sentence to match!
There are also 5 recording sheets and a cover to create a small book with sets of buttons on the bottom from 10 to 1 for them to create a subtraction sentence. These can be stapled on the bottom of their collage or used separately at a math station.
This One-and-Done project does NOT include templates or patterns for the art work. So just what is a KinderLit book?
