Thanksgiving Math Centers

No Prep! Thanksgiving Writing
Math Centers Included:
Turkey Feathers Number Order- Students match the feathers by color and then put them in order on a turkey. They record their work by using matching crayons on their response sheet.
Thanksgiving Count and Clip- Students choose a card, count the objects, and use a clothespin to clip the correct number of objects. They record their number on their response sheet.
Spin and Dab (+1, -1, or ten frame)- Choose which game to use (Spin +1, Spin -1, or just Ten Frame Spin). Students use a pencil and a paper clip to spin the spinner and dab the number on their paper with a bingo dabber. Three differentiated spinners and dabbing mats are included.
Which is More?- Students choose a card, count both sets of objects, and decide which is more. Students color the matching picture on their paper to show which is more.
Thanksgiving Count the Room-Ten Frames and Teens- Hide the cards around your classroom. Students find the cards, count the objects in the ten frames, and record the number on their paper.
Greater than or Less than 10 (Tally Marks, Numbers, and Dominoes)- Students pick a card and place it on their mat after deciding if it is greater or less than 10.
What’s Missing?- Students choose a card and find the missing number using the included number strip. Students record the missing number on their paper.
Literacy Centers Included:
Easy As Pie! Beginning Sound Puzzles- Students put together the pies by matching the letters to words that start with the same sound. You may supply the students with all the pies or just the letters that you’ve been working with.
What’s Missing?- Students will use a provided alphabet strip to determine which letter is missing on each card.
Syllable Sort- Students will choose a set of cards and sort them by the amount of syllables. Three mats and three sets of cards are included.
Ending Sounds- Students choose a card, say the word, and record the ending sound on their paper.
Does it Rhyme?-Students choose a card, say both words, and decide if it rhymes. Students use a Bingo Dabber to mark a smile if it rhymes and X if it does not.
Sentence Scramble- Students put together the “I like” sentences by putting the colored word cards in order. They record their sentences on their recording page. This center can be used in a pocket chart.
Write the Room/ Beginning Sounds- Hide the cards around the classroom. Students take their recording page to find each picture. They say each word and write the beginning sound.
Thanksgiving Word Cards- Use this set of cards at your writing centers to write sentences or make lists. They can also be used on your seasonal word wall.
