This activity can be played two ways and is a great cooperative learning activity. You may laminate each card to make it sturdier if you wish.
The first way to play is for students to use the cards with the beginning sound given. Students can have a partner and help each other find the three beginning sounds in a row and color them or use counters and cover them. There are four sounds on each card.
The second way is for students to play the game without the beginning sound letter clue given. Each student has counters and the first student to get three sounds in a row wins that game. There are four games on each card.
Another way to use this activity is for students to color the sounds. Teachers could also use it as a review or an assessment.
