The Kindergarten Writing Weekly Homework is designed to give students practice with writing skills. There is one assignment for each week of the school year. All the activities are designed to encourage parental support with each assignment. This resource can help teachers in designing their literacy curriculum as well.
The writing homework includes assignments in the following progression:
1) Students will put together a sentence which has been cut out and then write the sentence.
2) Students will listen to a simple sentence and begin writing the beginning sounds for words in the sentence and include known sight words.
3) Students will listen to a simple sentence and write beginning and ending sounds for words in the sentence and include known sight words.
4) Students will listen to a simple sentence and write the beginning, ending, and middle sounds (and any other sounds heard) as well as known sight words in the sentence.
In each writing assignment students will practice listening for sounds and recording what they hear. In addition, they will practice a sight word.
The weekly writing homework assignments can be enhanced by the weekly alphabet homework assignments which are also available in my store.
