Kindergarten / Writing Prompts (September)

This is a collection of 10 writing prompts and directed drawings for Kindergarten and Grade 1. They work great as a writing center, as a class monthly journal activity or for early finishers. The directed drawings give students direction and challenge them to draw new things. The fill in the blank writing prompts help our young learners practice their reading, printing and build their confidence in their writing. There is also template options to have students do their own writing for those who are ready to begin writing full sentences on their own.

September themes are: Scarecrow, Apple, Fawn, Squirrel, Pinecone, Corn, Carrot, Camper Trailer, Sunflower and Cactus.

Included in this pack:
4 Journal options: fill in the blank texts, title only
for more independent writer, or blank if you have your own writing ideas for each directed drawing. I also include a half page option for those of you who would like to cut and paste the image into student notebooks.
10 Simple word banks specific to each journal page, students can pick what word they like to fill in the blank from 3 different word options.

If you teach Grade 1-3 as well or have students who are ready for an extra challenge, be sure to check out the more advanced version of the writing prompts.
