Kindervention was made for those who need a little extra hands on practice in order to master the different math concepts that are taught in kindergarten. Play the same games for several days in order to boost understanding of the particular standard they are working on. The games are categorized by standard so that you can be sure that all of your students are meeting each math standard.
This product has a game for each standard in the counting and cardinality domain. Continue to be on the lookout for the other domains.
This product includes the following:
-- Games and activities for each of the standards in the counting and cardinality domain.
-- Directions on how to implement each game or activity
-- Progress monitoring reports in order to assess student growth
How do I use Kindervention?
When you know that a student needs extra help with a standard (either through teacher observation or a district or school assessment), immediately give them one of the quick progress monitoring assessments to get a baseline. During guided math (or in a small group), have the students play the provided games as you instruct. They will need quite a bit of scaffolding at the beginning, but you will gradually release responsibility as they become more knowledgeable and independent with the skill. Progress monitor at the end of each week in order to assess whether they have met the particular standard.
