This is a kindness project. When you catch a child spreading kindness add a heart to their chain. You can add a textbox over the heart of your choice or print a batch off to keep on hand to handwrite a note.
An example of a heart might be “Sophie, thank you for welcoming the new student and helping them find everything.”
A suggestion on where to keep their kindness chains is inside their lockers to keep this project away from boasting and focusing it on the individual.
A literacy tie in could be Be Kind by Pat Zietlow Miller.
Ways to use this:
*Use your kindness chain to inspire you to deliver acts of kindness.
*Have other teachers join in and catch students or each other spreading kindness
*How long can your chain of kindness grow
Included are a PDF and a PowerPoint version, you can insert a textbox into the PowerPoint to add names or the person's act of kindness.
There are six colour options (purple, blue, green, orange, pink, and teal) and a black and white heart. The hearts come in a large size for the name of the person's chain and little hearts for the acts of kindness.
Thank you for spreading kindness!
