This is a fun and engaging simulation to help students learn about the decisions which led to the English Civil war. Students assume the role of King Charles I and are given a series of decisions on a powerpoint presentation. They must chose carefully; for each poor decision, they must shade in a portion of their head on the provided student worksheet. The goal is to not lose their heads. After each student decision is made, the presentation describes the situation as it actually unfolded. This is great on its own or as an introduction for the necessity of the Petition of Right and other documents which steered England toward democratic ideals.
