I have gotten some of the most meaningful student work from this assignment! This asks students to depict an act from William Shakespeare's "King Lear" as a graphic novel. Yes, that is risky - there is a lot of nudity in the play - but students are always told to proceed in a school-appropriate way. Some students elect the challenge of drawing the entire play!
It is a meaningful, beautiful final assessment, asking them to put their own visual spin on the Bard's words.
*** NOTE: This comes from my Shakespeare elective class, where I allow extra work to be done to make up for grappling with the difficulty of the language. Feel free to modify this document for your own needs/situation.
