What is included?
There are several things included in this pack, so there are a multiple ways to use them.
Hieroglyphics Reading (pages 7-8)— Students will learn about the history of hieroglyphics in this reading passage. Page 8 includes questions that can be used after reading. This passage could also be used for a close read.
King Tut Reading (pages 9-11)— Students will learn about King Tut and why nobody knew about him until the 1920s. A comprehension sheet is included. It is a great passage for a close read, as well as for practicing reading strategies such as asking questions and inferring.
Hieroglyphics Math (page 12-13)— Use these fun pages to practice place value and/or addition and subtraction skills! Page 12 has students use the symbols to determine the number. Page 13 goes a step further and has them add or subtract numbers.
Pyramid Math (pages 14-15)— Use these math pyramids to practice adding, subtracting, doubling, multiplying, halving, etc. Students start with the number given at the top and follow the directions to find the “mystery” number! These pages are very similar, but page 14 only deals with single digit multiplication while page 15 includes double digit multiplication for easy differentiation!
Build a Pyramid (page16)— This fun word puzzler is great for building vocabulary and seeing patterns in words! Students start with a word at the top of the pyramid and change 1 letter at a time to make a new word that fits the description.
Map skills (pages 17-19)— Students can brush up on map skills and learn more about Egypt with these map skills. Page 17 is simply a “Where in the World is Egypt” poster so you can show students where Egypt is located. Pages 18 and 19 are the same, except page 19 shows a few more borders and page 18 is completely blank. I have found the maps at World Atlas to be great!
